Repco Investment Brings Jobs To Sydney's Outer West
On the 9th of September 2011, Repco officially opened its largest ever Distribution Centre (DC) in Ingleburn, bringing an additional 50 new jobs to the Sydney's outer western suburbs.
Formally opened by The Hon Tony Abbott MHR, Leader of the Opposition and Managing Director of the Exego Group incorporating Repco, Mr John Moller, the new 11,000 square meter facility will supply parts and products to over 100 Repco stores across NSW and the ACT and support the other distribution centres around Australia.
Located in the ever expanding industrial estate of Ingleburn, Repco's newest facility sits half way between the commercial centers of Campbelltown and Liverpool and is close to major roads including the M5 tollway.
The largest supplier in the Australian automotive aftermarket parts and accessories sector, Repco has over 280 stores across Australia. No automotive parts company other than Repco has this powerful a network and coverage.
"Our vision for the Repco Group is to be Australasia's preferred supplier of aftermarket vehicle parts, solutions and accessories," John Moller, Managing Director of the Exego Group incorporating Repco, said.
"A vision we deliver by providing the right part, in the right place, at the right time, for the right price. We do this every day around this country and we continuously strive to do this better."
Ongoing upgrades to the Distribution Network such as the creation of the new Ingleburn facility, four other major replenishments to other sites within the last 12 months, and a significant investment in a number of trade and retail stores around Australia have all contributed to Repco further confirming their market leading position over the competition.
The opening of the Repco Ingleburn Distribution Centre and the onsite Trade Store complements the already significant investment Repco has recently made to the region which over the last few years has included improvements to 18 retail and 6 trade stores in NSW and the ACT alone.
Ingleburn is the second DC opening in Sydney's Western suburbs in just a matter of months, taking Repco's total floor space to 20,000 square meters in the local area, employing a team of just over 200 people.
The new Repco Ingleburn facility hosts 25 aisles and mezzanine floors incorporating 45,000 storage locations to hold over 1.5million products and house 32,000 unique stock items from market leading brands and Repco's own quality branded products.
To improve efficiency, two key materials handling technologies will be utilized in the daily operations of the distribution centre, the specifically designed and built Schaefer Convey RF Picking System and a LongReach Telescopic Conveyor.
"The sheer volume of stock housed at the new site and the upgrade to processes will provide our customers and shareholders access to the widest range of parts and products available in Australia. Mechanics and workshops around the country will benefit from greater stock, range availability and faster delivery, which in turn is expected to reduce downtime, and provide for greater efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction.
"Repco continues to go from strength to strength, and our vision is for Ingleburn to set the benchmark in distribution processes using the latest in technology and the very best people in the country," said John Moller, Managing Director of Exego Group.
